Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Welcome to My PaperTrader. These terms are a contract between you and Venkat Praveen ("we", "us"), the operator of mypapertrader.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read the section on "This is not financial advice" carefully — it is the most important part.

1. What My PaperTrader is

My PaperTrader is an educational trading simulator. You get a balance of virtual money and can practise buying and selling real, publicly listed stocks and ETFs at market prices, trade simulated options, use simulated margin, run historical "what-if" scenarios, and let an AI agent manage a simulated portfolio on your behalf.

Everything in My PaperTrader is a simulation:

2. This is not financial advice

This section matters more than any other.

3. Market data

Market data (prices, historical charts, company information, news) is supplied by third-party providers. It may be delayed, interrupted, incomplete, or inaccurate. We do not independently verify it and we make no warranty as to its accuracy or timeliness. Option premiums shown in My PaperTrader are not live market quotes — they are estimated by a pricing model from the underlying price and estimated volatility, and are clearly labelled as such in the app.

4. Your account

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, or that create risk or disproportionate cost for us or other users.

6. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it — including features, virtual balances, limits, and the AI agent — at any time, with or without notice. We may reset simulated data. We do our best to avoid disruption but we do not promise uninterrupted service.

7. Paid features

Some features may require payment. If and when they do, pricing and billing terms will be presented to you before you pay, and those terms will form part of this agreement. Virtual money is never sold. Payment, where it exists, is for access to features and functionality — not for simulated currency.

8. Your content

Notes, journal entries, and other content you create remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that content back to you in order to operate the service. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not sell it.

9. Our content

The My PaperTrader software, design, branding, and original content are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. You may use the service, but you may not copy, resell, or create competing products from it.

10. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that any content — including AI-generated content and market data — is accurate or reliable.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where that applies, these limits apply only to the extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service.
